PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and low-cost planetarium and a wide-angle video projection device which can obtain a starry sky with presence by projecting a starry sky and a picture at a wide angle and reproduce even diurnal motion. SOLUTION: Through holes 4a simulating stars are bored in a projection original plate 4. The projection original plate 4 is fitted to a hollow bearing 5 and rotated by a motor 7 around an optical axis 12. Light projected from the projection original plate 4 passes through a projection lens 11 and is reflected by a convex mirror and projected on a screen dome, etc., at a wide angle. The projected starry sky is in motion similar to the diurnal motion. When the wide-angle video projection device is additionally provided, an image of a glow in the morning sky, a scene, etc., other than stars can be projected thereupon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
