PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the humidification efficiency of a humidifier as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the humidifier provided with a water supply section WS for supplying water and a vaporization member EV for discharging the water supplied by the water supply section WS as steam by exposing the water supplied by the section WS to vent space, an ultraviolet lamp 3 is provided for irradiating ultraviolet rays to the vaporization member EV. Through such constitution, the improving effect of the hydrophilic property of the member EV can be maintained for a long time by making it possible to irradiate ultraviolet rays to the member EV when necessary.
