PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornament for a necklace capable of being stably attached to the necklace, widening a range of a diameter of a usable ball of the necklace, and being used not only as a shortener but also as a broach separately. SOLUTION: A back face of an ornament member 11 is provided with a needle pin 12 and a pair of hook members 13, 13 positioned at both sides of the needle pin 12, having opening parts 13a faced to the needle pin 12 side, and inserted between balls D of a long necklace C, and a catch 14 detachably inserted to the needle pin 12, presses and fixes the balls D of the long necklace C from its rear part in a condition that the catch 14 is attached to the needle pin 12.
