<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system in which a slave station apparatus is connected to a master station apparatus via an optical cable and which transmit a communication signal from the slave station apparatus to the master station apparatus via the optical cable and can sense a fault state of the slave station apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical transmission system, when an alarm signal is input from an amplifier 211 in which a fault occurs in the slave station apparatus 21, a controller 212 switches a connection of a switch of a switch unit 213, interrupts a transmission of an incoming portable telephone signal, switches to a fault information signal including information of the fault signal of the amplifier 211, transmits the signal to the master station apparatus, and the master station apparatus can sense the fault state generated in the slave station apparatus 21 from the received fault information signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
