<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To best prevent an adverse effect caused by a difference in power supply batteries and to achieve a high function by changing applications even for the same batteries. <P>SOLUTION: A plural kinds of power supply batteries having different characteristics are selectively usable. Kinds of power supply batteries are identified to control battery operation in accordance with the identification result. For example, a function is restricted depending on the batteries, or a notice form to a photographer is changed. Changeover is applied to the plurality of power supply batteries, use in series connection, or use in parallel connection.
