<p>In a power storage system, a plurality of power storage units are connected in parallel to an electrical load, the power storage units respectively having a power storage part for storeing electrical power to supply to the electrical load, and first switching parts that enable switching on and off the connection between the power storage parts and the electrical load. The power storage system comprises: parallel circuits that connect power storage parts of different power storage units to each other in parallel using the first switching parts on the power storage part side; second switching parts that can switch on and off the connection between the power storage parts achieved by the parallel circuits; and a control part that switches the state of connection of the second switching parts when the first switching parts are put in an off state and the supply of electrical power to the electrical load has been stopped.</p>
