Biochip (A) having, on at least one support, at least one molecular probe (I) that is of high purity, is present in known amount and is identified from its nucleotide sequence, is new. Biochip (A) having, on at least one support, at least one molecular probe (I) that is of high purity, is present in known amount and is identified from its nucleotide sequence, is new. (I) is all or part of a DNA or cDNA characteristic of a specific gene. High purity indicates absence of chemical reagents, free oligonucleotides and fragments that do not correspond with the probe (fragments of the probe or primers); known quantity indicates that the amount used is exactly known because a known volume of known concentration is deposited; and the base sequence for at least enough of the gene for definition of gene specificity has been determined. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) preparation of biochips of very high quality; and (2) biochips prepared by method (1).
