PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cement admixture mainly used in civil engineering and building industries, which gives a cement composition exhibiting strengths nearly equivalent to those of a cement composition obtained by using a limestone fine powder and having material separation resistance and a function to suppress neutralization, and to provide the cement composition. SOLUTION: The cement admixture contains gehlenite characterized in that the Blaine specific surface area is≥3,000 cm<SP>2</SP>/g and the degree of vitrification is≤10%.
