PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the printing quality by reducing a torque of a flexible cable to a head which causes a trouble when power, data and control are supplied to a printer carriage. SOLUTION: The printer 40 is provided with a power bus (44) for supplying power to the printer carriage 42, and a first charge pickup system 46 for transmitting power from the power bus 44 to the printer carriage 42. Alternatively, the printer 40 is provided, which is further provided with an earth return bus 50 and a second charge pickup system 52 for connecting the printer carriage to the earth return bus.
