PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can reduce noises caused by a light emission section emitting light to illuminate an object more than that of a conventional image pickup device and to enhance the latitude of design. SOLUTION: The image pickup device employs a white LED 9 as a light emission section for emitting the light to illuminate an object so as to use the white LED 9 in place of a xenon tube as a strobe light emission section and can reduce noises caused by the light emission section for emitting light to illuminate the object more than that of a conventional image pickup device so as to be downsized and enhance the degree of design freedom.
