<p>A most likelihood series estimation apparatus and a most likelihood series estimation method capable of performing adaptation of a reception signal while suppressing increase of the circuit size even when the number of necessary taps is increased. An expected value generation unit (400) multiplies a channel estimation coefficient corresponding to each bit of the signals generated by a (N-1)-bit signal generation unit (100) and a 1-bit signal generation unit (200) and adds the multiplication results, thereby generating an expected value when a direct wave component and a delay wave component for the N taps are received. When a channel estimation coefficient of the (N+1) taps is used, an extended expected value generation unit (500) generates an expected value when a delay wave component of added one tap is received. Adders (600-1, 600-2) add the generated expected values and generate a replica of a reception signal. A most likelihood series estimation unit (700) performs adaptation of the reception signal by using the reception signal and the replica of the reception signal.</p> |
