PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a large metal plate can with an excellent lid openability which is opened by surely tearing with a small force, a ceiling plate along a cut-in groove on the can filled with solid materials such as fruit or fluidizing materials having a low liquidity, while preventing a silicon compound from peeling off in a power state and preventing metal pieces from mixing into food, to propose a method for opening the lid and a jig used for the same, and further to realize a method for forming the lid. SOLUTION: The large metal plate can is provided with a cut-in groove 11 at a lid 1 for opening it, and an auxiliary member 12a for opening the lid 1 is fitted in the vicinity of the cut-in groove and closer to the center of the cut-in groove 11. Preferably, the distance (d) between the auxiliary member 12a and the cut-in groove 11 satisfies d<20×t<2> /b, wherein (t) represents the thickness of a base member and (b) represents the remaining thickness for the lid just under the cut-in groove 11. |
