PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of rationally preventing the airtightness failure caused by the expansion of steam or remaining water generated in the packing mounting part of a high pressure steam sterilizer. SOLUTION: An air vent groove 6 is formed along the inner peripheral surface of the recessed part 4a, in which a packing 5 is fitted, of a lid 4 and a through-hole 7 allowing the air vent groove 6 and a chamber 3 to communicate with each other is made in the packing 5. By this constitution, even if steam penetrates in the gap between the outer peripheral part of the packing 5 and the inner peripheral surface of the recessed part 4a to expand, the steam passes through the air vent groove 6 provided along the inner periphery of the recessed part 4a to be returned to the space in the chamber 3 from the through-hole 7 provided to the packing 5 and, even when steam is expanded by heating at sterilization, the packing 5 fitted to the lid 4 is deformed to prevent the breaking of the airtightless in the chamber 3. |
