The hollow fibers, of an inorganic material which can be sintered, are formed by a molding body (13) with grooves (14) within a precipitation bath (12). The shaped hollow fibers have a tolerance for straightness of <= 0.5 mm along 35 mm, and a roundness tolerance of <= 3% from the mean radius. The fibers are spun by a spinneret jet head (17), connected to the supply container (15) through a hose (16).
