摘要 PURPOSE: An electron gun for a cathode ray tube is provided to reduce spherical aberration and improve resolution of image by enhancing the shape of the electron beam passing hole formed at the electrode constituting the pre-focusing lens unit. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a cathode(41) for emitting electron beams; a control electrode(42) for passing the electron beams emitted from the cathode; a screen electrode(43) arranged in front of the control electrode, and which has a plurality of first electron beam passing holes(45,46,47) formed at the electron beam incidence surface and a plurality of second electron beam passing holes(48,49,50) formed at the electron beam emitting surface from the interior of the first electron beam passing holes, wherein the central first electron beam passing hole and side first electron beam passing holes are formed into slots having different shapes; a focus electrode opposed to the screen electrode, and which has one or more electrodes for forming the pre-focusing lens unit; and a final accelerating electrode opposed to the focus electrode, and which forms a main focusing lens unit.
