PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently restrain and remove noise component without restraining and removing a fine structure of a subject in an original image by misunderstanding as a noise component, and without causing the deterioration of the image quality. SOLUTION: Original image data is decomposed into binary digit data, and bit image data is formed (Step 100). Binary edge data for expressing whether or not to correspond to the edge in a bit image is extracted from the bit image data (Step 102). An integral value is determined by adding the product of the mutual binary edge data for picture element of the bit image corresponding to two bits adjacent in order of the bit, the order of a low order bit is obtained among the adjacent two bits where the integral value juxtaposed in order from a high order bit becomes a prescribed threshold value or less in the first place, and the bit image data on the low order bit on and after the order of this low order bit is substituted in the same value (Step 106) as the noise component (Step 104). |
