PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load supporting device for a cryogenic refrigerating machine capable of preventing the deformation or the breakage of a cylinder unit 3 due to an external force exerted on the cylinder unit 3 and a cold head unit 4 by a simple constitution at low cost and capable of restraining the invading amount of heat from outside as much as possible, in the cryogenic refrigerating machine such as the Stirling refrigerating machine 1. SOLUTION: In consideration of that the cold head unit 4 is supported by a supporting member 21 through a small space 31 from the outside in the circumferential direction of the same and that a thermally contacting part as well as a thermally contacting time between the cold head unit 4 and the support member 21 are minimized, the support member 21, positioned at the outer peripheral part of the cold head unit 4 with a small space 31 between the cold head unit 4 and suppressing a further movement after contacting with the cold head unit 4 by the outward movement in the radial direction of the cold head, is provided.
