PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily utilize the action of image data corresponding to a picture for displaying operations necessary for document preparation in an electronic document by a word processor without connecting an external device in a document preparation method for a program type display device connected to the external device and allowing a display operation corresponding to a change in state of the external device. SOLUTION: A function to emulate the external device is provided on a computer device 16 which is connected in place of the external device so that a display at any timing during the operation of the program type display device 14 can be fetched as image data.
