PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller with a function, by which a viewer can easily capture/view/reserve information of a program associated with contents of a program during viewing, even if the viewer does not have information regarding the program contents. SOLUTION: This invention provides the controller (1), that makes reception reservation of a program and video recording reservation of the program, is provided with a retrieval request section (11), that requests a program information storage device (2) storing program information including the broadcast date and the time of a program and contents of the program to retrieve the program information; a reservation request section (11), that requests a program reservation device (3) for reserving program viewing or video recording to reserve program viewing or video recording; and an information acquisition section (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17), that acquires information associated with the program on the basis of the received program contents by a program receiver, the retrieval request section (11) makes the program information storage device (2) to retrieve the program information of the program associated with the received program, on the basis of the information acquired by the information acquisition section (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17), and the reservation request section (11) requests the reception reservation or the program video recording reservation, on the basis of the retrieved program information.
