PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter employing a solid-state imaging device that controls an external trigger input of the solid-state imaging device, having a high-speed digital interface based on the capacity of a buffer permits, so as to eliminate the limit of an input interval of an external trigger by a transmission LSI. SOLUTION: The transmitter, which applies processing to a video signal extracted from an imaging element, on the basis of an input timing of an external trigger, stores the processed signal to the buffer, reads the stored data signal and transmits the data via a transmission reception LSI, is provided with a means of controlling the input of an external trigger, based on the storage capacity of the buffer.
