PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc segment magnet, which suppresses cogging torques to maintain the strength of magnetic fields and prevents the occurrence of a split and a crack. SOLUTION: There is provided the arc segment magnet having the following shape. When the magnet is viewed from the section perpendicular to the axial direction, the length in the peripheral direction is almost constant on the central part and gradually decreases on the ends. The central part has sides almost parallel to each other in the axial direction and the ends have recessed sides or side ridges sloped against the axial direction.
