PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an operation for sorting out dummies from plated products has been drudgery and consumed much time, because a conventional barrel used for barrel plating has been made of resin. SOLUTION: The barrel 3 is characterized by being made from an electroconductive material. Then, the barrel 3 itself can be used as a negative electrode for applying negative current to articles W charged in the barrel to be plated. It extremely increases the efficiency for the negative electrode to contact with the articles W to be plated, and consequently reduces or eliminates a quantity of the dummies which get mixed with the plated products W. Thereby, the barrel alleviates or eliminates the operation for sorting the dummies out from the plated products after plating, and dramatically increases the operation efficiency.
