PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an artificial coloring matter sprayed color image and an ordinary color image on a same image screen in an electronic endoscope system. SOLUTION: The ordinary color image is displayed on a first display area RL of a monitor device 200 on the basis of a red picture element signal, a green picture element signal, and a blue picture element signal equivalent to one frame obtained from an endoscope. A processor displays the artificial coloring matter sprayed color image of emphasizing a blue component on a second display area RR of the monitor device 200 by reducing a signal level value of the red and green picture element signals on a specific picture element when the signal level value of the specific picture element is lower than an average signal level value of proximity surrounding picture elements. |
