PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersing caisson submerging apparatus which facilitates minute control for determining an submerging location of a caisson even in waters where the depth is deep and stream is fast, and to provide an immersing caisson submerging method. SOLUTION: The immersing caisson submerging apparatus is comprised of a plurality of screw devices 3 each including a driving means for rotatively driving a screw 4, and gripping means 8 each for detachably attaching the screw device 3 to the immersing caisson 2. The screw devices 3 are attached to the immerging caisson 2 via the respective gripping means 8. According to the immerging caisson submerging method, the immersing caisson 2 is suspended by wires 7 which are then loosened to lower the immersing caisson 2, and at the same time the screws 4 are rotated, to thereby submerge the immerging caisson 2 against the resistance of the stream while controlling its position.
