PURPOSE: To reduce the processing load on the side of controlling sound source hardware, to reduce the control data amount and to make it possible to cope with a new musical piece format as well. CONSTITUTION: In the sound source hardware 15, a sequencer 32 for performing a time management processing and a sound source part 33 provided with a plurality of sounders are provided. A sound source control register 34 in the sound source part 33 is divided into a voice parameter area 34a storing control parameters for the respective sounders and a channel parameter area 34b storing control parameters for respective channels and stores sounding control parameters. The individual sounders generate voice according to the control parameters from the areas 34a and 34b. By software processing by a CPU 10, a means for covering hardware control data of the sound source sends out control data to the channel parameter area 34b for the control change even of controlling the sounding of a channel in musical piece sequence data.
