摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display having superior animation display characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A gradation voltage applying timing to the liquid crystal cells located at the upper on a screen to the gradation voltage applying timing to the liquid crystal cells located at the center of the screen and the gradation voltage applying timing of the liquid crystal cells located at the lower end of the screen to the gradation voltage applying timing of the liquid crystal cells located at the center of the screen are set to the same timing or the timing that is shifted by one scanning line selection time. Moreover, a liquid crystal panel is illuminated with a back light which is intermittently turned on and off in synchronism with vertical synchronization signals.
