PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic improvement type RDB system capable of automatically improving the operating efficiency of an RDB. SOLUTION: This RDB system is provided with an RDB 107, an executing part 106 capable of executing a data access by an SQL, a monitoring part 108 for monitoring the operating situation of the RDB, a statistical information part 109 for storing the monitored result of the monitoring part as statistical information, a source code 101 of a program using the SQL, a compiler 102 for converting the source code into an execution type program, a script 104 including an index defining the RDB, and a parameter 105 for controlling the operation of the RDB. An evaluating part 100 evaluates the statistical information by using a rule base 114, and automatically rewrites at least one of the source code, the script, and the parameter based on the evaluated result for improving this RDB system.
