An electronic device connected to a communication line for accessing an access point through the communication line to perform information communication. A schedule file where an action schedule is recorded and an access point file where the correspondence between access points and location information is recorded are prepared. The current location of the electronic device is known from the schedule file, and the access point associated with the current location is selected. In this way, an appropriate access point selection can be performed without necessity of any costly equipment.
