The seat mounting, especially in a passenger railway carriage, has a horizontal carrier (2) which is secured to the vertical member at an upper mounting point by a side wall adapter (1). The side wall adapter has at least two holding points for the horizontal carrier and/or the upper mounting point gives the different carrier heights of the horizontal carrier. The end of the cross beam (3) at the horizontal carrier forms an initial sliding linkage point (3.1), and the other end of the cross beam forms a second linkage point (3.2).
