PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plate for a rotary press capable of producing a printed matter having no trace of a seam at a low cost. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the plate to be used for the rotary press comprises the step of first engaging a sleeve member 80 on a plate cylinder 31 so as to manufacture the plate. The method further comprises the step of then adhering split plates 81 on the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve member 80 without gap. The method also comprises the step of cutting a protuberance on the part adjacent to the other plate 81 thereof so that the surface of the plate becomes smooth. The method also comprises the step of adhering the end faces of the plates 81 at the adjacent parts of the plates 81.
