PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic forming die and a hydraulic forming method of a member of a polygonal section, by which the thickness of a predetermined side is preferentially made larger than the thickness of a stock plate, the mechanical strength of a necessary minimum part can be improved in a controlled manner. SOLUTION: The hydraulic forming die comprises a female die comprising a base female die 140 having a projection part 141 on a cavity surface and a vertical female die 130, and a male die 120 which is vertically movable in a female die cavity. A holding tool 150 for holding a metal plate 10 from its outer peripheral side and a shaft cylinder tool 160 for holding the metal plate 100 by the holding tool 150 and the female die are disposed on an end part in the longitudinal direction of the female die. A projection part (not shown) is formed on the cavity surface of the male die 120 in the section of the shorter direction, and a liquid filling/discharging nozzle 161 for filling/discharging the liquid in/from the female cavity is disposed on the shaft cylinder tool 160.
