PURPOSE: A method for displaying computer screen information using a television set is provided to receive resolution, aspect ratio and position information of a computer screen from a television set to display a computer image using the television set without being restricted by the performance and display mode of the computer. CONSTITUTION: A television screen mode is converted into a computer input mode to receive RGB images from a computer through selected pins of a D-SUB cable(S1). Information about resolution and aspect ratio or effective area of picture is received from the computer through other pins of the D-SuB cable(S2). When the information about resolution and aspect ratio is received, the images are controlled according to the received information about resolution and aspect ratio and displayed on a television screen(S3). When the information about the effective area of picture is received, the images are magnified according to the information, to display the effective area of picture on the television screen(S4).
