The invention relates to a vehicle control, in particular, it concerns a system and method for the directional control of vehicles of any construction, type of propulsor or body. The known control systems comprise a steering member, a transmission mechanism (11), a steering gear (12) and an operating mechanism, the most widely used being one which utilizes the steering wheel as a steering member. The system and method of controlling the direction of a vehicle of the present invention consists of using two or one handles (1, 2) located close to the driver's seat as a steering member, the handles being moved with the driver's hand in antiparallel directions along the axis of movement of the vehicle. The system and method of this invention have a number of advantages, the purpose of which is to simplyfy the control system, improve the ergonomics and safety, reduce the maneuver performance time, and make the instrument panel forward visibility better. |
