PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial membrane usable as a substitution for animal, more particularly human biomembranes, i.e., artificial substitutive biomembrane and a method of making the same. SOLUTION: This membrane is formed by using bioabsorptive and/or biodegradable synthetic fiber cloth as a skeleton and coating the same with a fibrin sealant. The method of making the substitutive biomembrane includes a process step of allowing the bioabsorptive and/or biodegradable synthetic fiber cloth to coexist under the conditions under which the synthetic fiber cloth is coated with a membrane essentially consisting of the crosslinked fibrin fibers in a solution simultaneously or time serially with fibrinogen, human blood-coagulation XIII-th factor, calcium salt, aprotinin and thrombin in an environment isolated with the viable tissue. |
