PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satellite communication network by which many data channels are transmitted efficiently via a satellite. SOLUTION: A block encoder 28 which generates an encoding uplink data stream by encoding the data channels by using a block code is used. A modulator 30 modulates the encoding uplink data stream. Then, by a transmitting antenna 32, modulation uplink data streams 34 generated as its result are transmitted to the satellite 24. The satellite uses a satellite demodulator 48 and a switch 50, and an internal data stream composed of the data channels selected from among the uplink data streams 34 is generated. The internal data stream is sent to a convolution encoder 52. The output of the convolution encoder is connected to a satellite modulator 54. A satellite transmitting antenna 56 transmits a modulation downlink data stream 58 to a receiver. |
