PURPOSE: A navigation system for recognizing traveling vehicles and a method for using the same are provided to perform communication between the traveling vehicles by improving a structure of the navigation system. CONSTITUTION: An operating switch(10) is used for operating selectively a navigation system. An object vehicle input switch(20) is used for determining selectively an inputting state of the navigation system. An input portion(30) is used for inputting a navigation ID of the object vehicle and a destination of a self vehicle. A GPS(Global Positioning System) antenna(40) receives information about a traveling position of the object vehicle and a traveling position of the self vehicle. A display portion(50) displays the traveling position of the object vehicle and the traveling position of the self vehicle. A direction switch(60) is used for grasping direction information on the basis of the object vehicle and the self vehicle. An AM communication antenna(70) transmits or receives a communication signal between the object vehicle and the self vehicle. A navigation control unit(80) controls the AM communication antenna(70), the direction switch(60), the display portion(50), the GSP antenna(40), the input portion(30), the object vehicle input switch(20), and the operating switch(10).
