PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elastomeric ethylene-hexafluoropropylene-based copolymer with excellent vulcanizing property by emulsion polymerization of ethylene and hexafluoropropylene and, if necessary, with a monomer copolymerizable with these monomers at low temperature. SOLUTION: This method for producing an elastomeric ethylene- hexafluoropropylene-based copolymer comprises an emulsion polymerization of ethylene and hexafluoropropylene and, if necessary, with a monomer copolymerizable with these monomers in aqueous medium at -20 deg.C to 40 deg.C using a radical polymerization initiator.
