PURPOSE: To provide a method for preventing a seed from causing a defect in germination and rosette formation which can easily be performed and allows simply seeding after treating without requiring a large-scale equipment in relation to the seed easy to cause the defect in germination and the rosette formation. CONSTITUTION: This method for preventing the seed from causing the defect in germination and the rosette formation comprises leaving the seed of plant causing the defect in germination or the rosette formation when growing in a high-moisture content state in a low-temperature and dark condition and then carrying out drying treatment.
