PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element of low resistance which does not bring forth deterioration of emitted light intensity. SOLUTION: With the organic electroluminescent element 1 consisting of positive electrodes 4 laminated in turn on a substrate 2, an organic electroluminescent layer 5 including at least one charge carrier transport layer 51 made of an organic compound thin film and a luminescent layer 52, and negative electrodes 6, the positive electrodes comprise a metal layer 3 having an opening part 3a for taking outside light emitted at the luminescent layer 52 and a transparent conductive film 4a laminated so as to cover the metal layer 3, of which, specific resistance is lower than that of the transparent conductive film 4a.
