<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a material for soil improvement having excellent performance while decreasing heat consumption by downsizing a rotary kiln therefor. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following steps; a granulated substance obtained by mixing dehydrated sludge cakes with lime and agitating the mixture is charged into a fluidized bed furnace 20 in which the granulated substance itself is used as the fluidizing medium, with the off-gas from a downstream rotary kiln 28 used as dried, dried/preheated or subjected to drying/ organic materials incineration/slaked lime calcination. then, the granulated substance from the fluidized bed furnace 20 is led into the rotary kiln 28 and baked, the thus baked granulated substance is led into a fluidized bed cooler 38, part of the smell generated in the granulated substance-producing process is led into the cooler 38 as at least part of a coolant to be directly cooled and then the smell is recovered as secondary combustion air for a kiln burner.</p> |
