PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a highly reliable drying detection performance with high drying detection precision by preventing an undried or over-dried state in a washing and drying machine for successively controlling a series of processes such as washing, rinsing, dehydrating and drying. SOLUTION: An internal tub 4 having a rotary center axis in the vertical direction is freely rotatably supported inside an external tub 3 which is hung in a case 1, a rotary blade 6 is arranged in the inner bottom part of the internal tub 4 so as to be freely rotatable. The internal tub 4 or the rotary blade 6 is driven by a motor 10 and a warm air which is heated by a heater 15 and supplied into the internal tub 4 by a drying blower 14 is circulated in a warm air circulating route 18 provided with a thermal exchange 12. A control means 36 controls the processes of washing, rinsing, dehydrating and drying, etc., operates intake valve 34 for introducing outer air to the warm air circulating route 18 when a prescribed time elapses after the drying process starts and completes drying when the temperature rises by a prescribed temperature from the minimum value of a temperature difference between the circulation air temperature of the warm air circulating route 18 and the outer wall temperature of a thermal exchange 12.
