PURPOSE: A hinge assembly for an engine hood panel of a vehicle is provided to prevent a pedestrian from being injured by releasing supporting force of a pin with transmitting shock through an impact transmitting lever to a link and by buffering impact with moving down the hood panel and the hood hinge at a collision. CONSTITUTION: A hinge assembly of an engine hood panel(12) for a vehicle is installed between the engine hood panel and a vehicle body panel to open and close the engine hood panel. The engine hood panel is connected to a hood hinge(23), and the lower part of a bracket(31) is fixed in the vehicle body panel. The end of the hood hinge is contained in the bracket, and a pin(22) is penetrated through the bracket. An elastic member bracket is installed in the bracket to contain an elastic member by a fixing panel. The end of the elastic member is connected to the pin, and a link is installed in the elastic member bracket. A stopper(35a) is formed in the link to restrict movement of the pin. An impact transmitting lever(36) is connected to the lower part of the link, and contacted to the engine hood panel. The pedestrian is protected with buffering impact in bumping the pedestrian into the engine hood panel during traveling.
