A method for producing, from a blank, restrictive tooling for use in an orbital polishing machine involves urging one of either the workpiece (20) or the blank (110) along a predetermined path (107) against the other to physically impart a proportioned contour of the workpiece (20) into the blank (110), thereby producing the restrictive tooling.
