PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the occurrence of a discontinuity of drain wiring caused by an etching liquid being penetrated into a semiconductor layer pattern located at a gate/drain crossing section is prevented, deterioration in coating property of the protective insulating film that covers the pattern is prevented so that a display irregularity and smear on the surface of the liquid crystal display caused by the contact between the liquid crystals and metallic components are not generated. CONSTITUTION: In end face lines L, where a drain wiring 14 comes into contact with the cross end faces of a semiconductor layer 16 which crosses the wiring 14 in a width direction, the position where the line L crosses one of the side lines of the line 14 and the position where the line L crosses the other side line of the line 14 are not located on the line which approximately authogonally crosses either one of the side lines. Moreover, the wiring 14 and the layer 16 are arranged with their side surfaces shifted so as to form a step section and the both side surfaces of the wiring 14 and the layer 16 are made in not a continuous surface but a stepped part.
