A textile cleaning material comprises a flat article carrying a functional substance with releasable active components, the functional substance being chemically and physically bonded to the article. Independent claims are also included for: (i) manufacture of the cleaning material by applying the functional substance (and optionally other substances) to a textile web, followed by heat treatment; and (ii) a kit for dry cleaning of textiles comprising the above cleaning material and a closable container for the cleaning material.
