PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ a cooking chamber of a microwave oven as a heat retaining chamber and use the microwave oven as a refrigerator by providing a refrigerating chamber as well as the cooking chamber. SOLUTION: The microwave oven comprises a magnetron 23, a main body 1 including the cooking chamber 2 which is irradiated with electromagnetic wave from the magnetron and the refrigerating chamber 3 with a partition wall provided relative to the cooking chamber, a heat transfer element 26 provided between the cooking chamber 2 and the refrigerating chamber 3 and having a heat radiating part and a heat absorbing part, a hot air transfer part for transferring hot air from the heat radiating part to the cooking chamber and a cold air transfer part for transferring cold air from the heat absorbing part.
