PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method which will not cause rotation irregularities during actual operation, troubles on braking, or step out by computing an optimum drive pattern, when driving a motor according to a designated number of steps, and driving the motor by control signal geared to the drive pattern, thereby utilizing the property of the motor to its maximum, in a circuit for driving a stepping motor. SOLUTION: A drive signal making circuit 2, consisting of a storage device 21, which has stored motor and drive system property data regarding the torque- speed property, load, inertia, etc., of the stepping motor 4, and a proper drive pattern computing circuit 22, which computes a proper drive pattern from the data stored in that storage device 21, is provided between a command circuit 1 and a drive circuit 3. The command circuit 1 gives a number-of-steps command to the drive signal making circuit 2, and the drive signal producing circuit 2 outputs a control signal for a proper drive pattern to a drive circuit 3, according to the input signal, thereby driving the stepping motor 4. |
