PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst supporting bag filter capable of removing dust or a harmful gas component contained in exhaust gas stably and efficiently over a long period of time even if backward washing operation is repeated. SOLUTION: In the catalyst supporting bag filter (1), from which adhered dust is shaken off by the jet fluid from a backward washing nozzle, for removing dust and a harmful gas component contained in exhaust gas, the support amount of a catalyst of the range of 10-40% of the total length of the bag filter from the upper end part, where the backward washing nozzle is positioned, of the bag filter is at least 1.3 times that of other part. In a method for manufacturing the catalyst supporting bag filter (2), the range of 10-40% of the total length of the bag filter from the upper end part of the bag filter, which is impregnated with a catalyst-containing liquid, is further impregnated with a catalyst-containing liquid the concentration of the catalyst of which is 1-1.5 times that of the catalyst-containing liquid and the support amount of the catalyst of the impregnated range is made at least 1.3 times that of the other part. |
