<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical writing type recording and display device capable of performing recording and display with high sensitivity and capable of performing the recording and the display with a short write pulse impressing time. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a recording part 10 displaying a picture, an optical write part 12 writing a picture on the recording part 10 with a light pattern and a control part 14 controlling the recording part 10 and the optical write part 12. The recording part 10 is constituted of a spatial modulation element 20 and a driving device 22 and the spatial modulation part 20 is constituted of a liquid crystal display element layer 36 having a memory property and an organic photoelectric conductive switching element layer 34. At light irradiation and a non-light irradiation by the optical write part 12, the control part 14 decides the magnitude and the impression time of a voltage which is applied by the driving device 22 to the spatial modulation element 20 so that the voltage becomes a threshold voltage corresponding to a voltage waveform which is to be decided in accordance with the size relation between the time constant D of the liquid crystal display layer 36 and that of the organic photoelectric conductive switching element layer 34 and outputs a trigger signal for outputting the driving waveform to the driving device 22.</p> |
