PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to increase discharge sustaining period and improve luminance by causing auxiliary discharge from the auxiliary electrode and reducing address period. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a scanning/sustaining electrode(34) and a common sustaining electrode(36) which are formed in parallel onto an upper substrate; an auxiliary electrode(38) arranged between common sustaining electrodes so as to cause auxiliary discharge; and an address electrode(48) formed onto a lower substrate(46). The auxiliary electrode is arranged between two adjacent scanning lines, and the sustaining electrode included in each of adjacent scanning line in such a manner that common sustaining electrodes from among the sustaining electrode are arranged symmetrically centering from the auxiliary electrode so as to cause auxiliary discharge together with the auxiliary electrode. |
